Preparing For Your Appointment
Golden Brides appointment will be a comprehensive, consultative experience that will leave you knowing what gown will best to meet your expectation. The perfect dress often ends up being something you may not have previously considered. We’ll show you why the right dress truly is the right dress based on your vision, venue, body type and budget. It’s a unique shopping experience probably unlike any other you will ever encounter.
Arrive with an open mind as Golden Bride’s initial consultation is the kind of event which can not be truly duplicated a second time, we strongly recommend you bring your Mother or important support person to share this experience with you first hand.
When to Visit
Weekdays are the ideal time to shop if you prefer a relaxed environment with fewer customers in the store. During the week our consultants can devote more time assisting you in finding everything you need to outfit your entire wedding party in one extended visit.
Weekends are typically very busy and often booked up weeks in advance. Saturdays and Sunday are busy and bustling at Golden Brides and can be a fun time to shop if you love interacting and sharing the excitement of wedding attire shopping with other brides. It’s a busy, high-energy environment that can be inspiring and a lot of fun! In order to accommodate the extremely high demand for Saturday and Sunday appointments, consultations are limited to 2 hours.
What to Expect When You Arrive
Upon arrival, we’ll ask you to share basic information about your vision for the wedding day, party members, venue, and colour schemes so we can help you select a dress that will truly set the tone for your wedding.
Once you’ve given us some basic information, you will be assigned a consultant who will take you on a short tour of our immense salon. She’ll briefly introduce our bridesmaids, and in house, custom fitting departments. With the introduction out of the way, we can start the process of finding the perfect gown for you and everything else you need to create a customized picture perfect wedding look.
If you have brought clippings from magazines or the internet we will start with those looks first then if needed suggest options that will be most flattering based on your body type skin tones, venue etc. We’ll go through a thorough process of elimination which will end with one, truly amazing “perfect for you” gown. Our gown line is comprised of styles from the industry’s leading designers. Dresses are selected exclusively for our store based on their superior fit, amazing styling, quality of construction and incredible value. If you have shopped elsewhere prior to your Golden Brides appointment you’ll probably notice the difference in fit and fabrication of a Golden Brides gown, compared to others you may have tried on. You may notice the gowns amazingly feel like they were custom made for you, at a fraction of the cost of custom made. We also have an incredible collection of bridal shoes, headpieces, and accessories, so you’ll be perfectly coordinated from head to toe.

Measurements
Once you have found the perfect dress and made the decision to place an order, a trained consultant will take careful measurements to ensure the best or closest fitting size is ordered. While a size is recommended by our staff, the size choice is always the bride’s decision. Many custom sizing options are available from the designer for an extra charge, including adding extra length for tall brides, petite lengths for shorter brides, hollow to hem and more. However, no matter the complexity of measurements, custom fittings are required in most cases for a hem, bustle, nip and tuck.
